Our Story

(Leanne) The first time I met him, I knew I wanted to be with him. I liked his charisma, long curly hair and skinny jeans. I didn’t like punk music but he sang MakeDamnSure to me in a janky recording in a voice message, and that song never left me. It didn't work out between us and I eventually forgot about him. This was 2008.

Fast forward to a warm 2021 summer, I introduced myself to a short-haired, platinum blonde, tattooed guy with a skateboard at a coffee shop — a quintessential Ossington hipster, though ironically only having moved in to the neighbourhood recently. “I know who you are,” he said embarrassingly. I was confused, but I figured we had some mutual friends or something. He reluctantly introduced himself to me. I don’t know a Jason... I thought, until I saw the birthmark on his neck.

It's funny how we've lived our lives and grown from the kids we used to be. If we had met again sooner — or later — I don't think it would have worked out. It was serendipitous to meet again like this, everything in our lives lined up perfectly for us to happen.

(Jason) We wanted this celebration to represent the things we love with the people we love most. In fact, we wanted to elope to avoid the responsibility altogether. But if you know us, we don't quit. In a weird way, challenge excites us and a wedding perfectly captures that. It would mean the world to us to have you celebrate our love and friendship.

Love is a scary, complex, and beautiful thing. One of the things that makes it scary is the fear of getting hurt. If you know us we skate a lot. Therefore, we get hurt... a lot. But sometimes you just gotta go for it, you know?

So this is our full send.
